Welcome to South Vermillion Middle School!

South Vermillion Middle School is located in Clinton, Indiana, which is about fifteen minutes north of Terre Haute. We are a rural school with an enrollment of about 400 students in the sixth through eighth grades.  The South Vermillion Community School Corporation is comprised of three elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.

Our staff consists of thirty certified and about twenty classified employees.  Our building is based off of the teaming concept.  Each grade level team (6th, 7th, and 8th) is made up of at least one core subject area teacher, a special education teacher, and an instructional aide.  Our exploratory team consists of technology, family and consumer science, art, GAIN, health, physical education, band, and choir teachers.  Students have the opportunity to choose their exploratory classes.

We believe the intent of South Vermillion Middle School is to develop a total educational program, one which is conducive to the developmental, as well as academic, growth of our young adults.  We strive toward making students aware of their abilities as thinking and feeling individuals who are able to take an active role in their education and in their lives.  This represents a significant change from the traditional role of the student.
