SVMS Attendance Policy

Absences will accumulate all year and NOT reset at the semester
ALL excused and unexcused absences count toward the calculation of total absences
After a student’s 10th excused or unexcused absence in a school year, they are placed on an Attendance Agreement.

Absences in any period	Outcomes
5th	Attendance Agreement Warning Letter #1
8th	Attendance Agreement Warning Letter #2
10th	Attendance Agreement Begins (Dr. notes will be required for all future absences)
11th	Lunch Detention
12th	After School Detention
13th	Saturday School Ineligible for all ECA activities & events including dances
14th	Saturday School Peer Court
15th	Referral to the Vermillion County Prosecutor’s Office

*Outcomes after the 10th absence are implemented if there is not a physician's note

provided.
